It may be prudent to get your hormone levels checked to rule out such diseases like Polycystic Ovaries/ Cushings disease/ Thyroid. Failing that recent article I have read on Sky News ( UK) Suggested that peppermint tea has helped diminish hairyness in women as it reduces testoterone.

Here is a more affordable option. It is called "sugaring". It can be offered at some hair salons, as well as some dermatologists. It removes the hair in the direction it grows, causing less pain, and irritation. It also has a longer lasting affect because it isn't breaking the hair off like waxing or shaving which go against the hair grow, rather sugaring removes it at the root. After numerous sugaring experiences, the hair will grow back much finer, and in most cases cease to grow at all. I say you find a place that does it near you and give it at least 3 trys, you will notice an amazing difference.

laser is quite expensive but in the long run it is worth the money as the hair won't grow back....however you should see a specialist who will recommend something to suit you as laser treatment can cause scarring on some women....
the fact that you have excess hair probably is due to a hormonal imbalance therefore if you go and see your GP or a doctor about the problem they can give you hormone pills to correct the problem (give you more estrogen because your body is producing too much testosterone)

This can be caused by a hormone imbalance and can be an indicator of other medical conditions such as polycystic ovaries. Why not see your GP first - it may be that the cause can be treated and save you a lot of money!

it has been proven that if you constantly wax a certain area, after time the hair never grows back as the folicals are too badly damaged to grow hair again.

How to Remove Unsightly Body Hair:
Unwanted hair? No problem. There are several options to choose from that will safely, and in some cases permanently, get rid of it. You may want to experiment with a few of them to decide what works best for you.
Instructions
STEP 1: Shave it. Shaving is a popular way to remove unwanted hair, although hair tends to grow back quickly. STEP 2: Use a depilatory product, which temporarily removes hair by chemically dissolving it. When purchasing a depilatory product, be sure it is formulated for the area of the body on which you intend to use it. Do a sensitivity test before using it on large areas, and follow directions carefully. STEP 3: Consider waxing every 4 to 6 weeks, in which you apply hot or cold wax to an area of the skin with unwanted hair. The hair adheres to the wax and is removed when the wax is peeled off. Because waxing removes hair at the root, regrowth occurs slowly. STEP 4: Tweeze it. Tweezing removes hair at the root, but is not practical for large areas of hair. STEP 5: Think about electrolysis. Using an electrical current, this process can remove some hair permanently by destroying the hair follicle. Home electrolysis devices are available, but most people opt for professional treatment. Large areas of unwanted hair may require several sessions. STEP 6: Laser it. Laser treatment destroys hair follicles, but may not result in permanent hair removal. Laser treatments should be performed by a licensed professional. Tips & Warnings
You may wish to talk to your general physician or dermatologist for a recommendation of an appropriate hair-removal method.
Laser treatments and electrolysis can be expensive. Find out their levels of success before you invest.
Nearly all procedures for hair removal cause some kind of discomfort or skin reaction. Consider all options before proceeding.

How to Remove Unsightly Facial Hair:
If you aspire to have a silky-smooth, hairless face, try some of the methods below.
Instructions
STEP 1: Shave it, but remember that this is a temporary method of facial hair removal that is not recommended for women. Regrowth tends to occur rapidly. STEP 2: Tweeze it. Tweezing is a good, although somewhat painful way to remove small areas of unwanted facial hair. Because the hair is plucked out at the root, it takes longer for regrowth to appear. STEP 3: Use depilatory creams, gels and lotions, which contain a chemical that alters the structure of the hair for easy removal. This chemical can be irritating to skin, so use only a product especially formulated for the face. Always do a skin test on a small area of the face before using the product, and follow directions exactly to avoid irritation or chemical burns. STEP 4: Consider waxing every 4 to 6 weeks, in which you apply hot or cold wax to the area of unwanted hair. The hair becomes affixed to the wax and the wax is then pulled off the skin, taking the hair with it. Test a small area of your skin for an allergic reaction before using, and do not use wax on sunburned or irritated skin. STEP 5: Think about electrolysis, a permanent hair removal method in which an electrical current is used to destroy the hair root. Several treatments may be required over a period of time, as each hair follicle must be destroyed individually. STEP 6: Laser it. Hair removal by laser must be done by a licensed professional. It can be expensive and time-consuming, and it may not be permanent. It is best to discuss your situation with a professional. You can find one by looking in the yellow pages under "Hair Removing." Tips & Warnings
You may wish to discuss hair removal options with your physician before proceeding.
Consider using a lotion containing alpha-hydroxy acid after any of the above treatments. It exfoliates the skin, which helps to prevent ingrown hairs.
If all else fails, bleaching the hair is a safe and easy option.
Nearly all methods of hair removal cause some kind of discomfort or skin irritation. Be sure to consider these before choosing one method over another.
