I bought seasons 1-5 of Sopranos off a guy that claimed his DVD are licensed factory imports and not bootleg or burnt copies. It actually said this in his posting word for word. I get the DVD's and they are obviously bootleg from China. They are pretty good bootlegs with printed labels for the discs and the packaging. They even have on screen menus and the whole nine yards. But I am an audio/videophile with an expensive home theather setup and the video quality is definatley not up to par. There is severe blocking and poor color mixing. It drives me nuts I can't stand to watch it. I've written this guy several times asking for my money returned but haven't gotten a repsonse yet. I paid thru paypal. What are my options?

Contact the seller, explain that you believe you have a counterfeit item, and ask if you can return it for a refund. The seller may have been unaware that it wasn't genuine. If that fails you could, I suppose, report the seller to ebay for selling counterfeit goods. You may have to write this one off to experience.

my advice for the future would be to give e-bay a wide birth... potentially it's a legal mine field and my experience with them is not a happy one... Costumer satisfaction isn't high on there list of priorities.. And when a problem occurs they shift the blame onto the seller and hide behind crappy legal waivers...

Good luck getting your money back...

Call the FBI for selling bootlegs, I think they are cracking down on stuff like that. Or call creators of the Sopranos, send some goonies on his aass.

Report them to eBay, it is against policy to sell bootlegged items, you can also try e-mailing the seller and asking for a refund.

The best way to find out is to check e-bays policy. If the answer is not there email them to find out. Nobody can tell you that here.
