My son broke is leg and arm while snowboarding two weeks ago. He's 14 years old. Because of this I've, had to help with his clothes and bathing. I do not mean to stare at him, but he hasn't started puberty. Yesterday while I had him in the tub he got an erection. It was small and really no different then his 2nd grade brothers. I just ignored it and he didn't even seem to notice it or bring any attention to it. I'm just wondering if he self aware or has any modesty issues. He doesn't seem to have any? I would assume also that the errection was not sexual in nature because of his maturity. Am I safe to assume so?

You shouldnt feel guilty looking, it is within a mothers rights to know. I was very conscience of my puberty, so I looked it up on google and I found out that if a boy hasnt started puberty (started to grow pubes) by 14 then mabye he should be taken for some hormone boosts. This just consists of a small number of injections taken every couple of weeks to help boost start puberty.
As for the erection issue, you are safe to assume that it was not of a sexual nature but instead it was probably involuntary.

He just hasn't matured. He probably doesn't think about sexual things and the erection was probably from the water rushing over it. But get out of the bathroom while he is in the tub and let him grow up!
