You need to be in safe mode to restore your computer to a previous date. Turn the PC off then back on and start tapping the F8 button. Should give you a safe mode option, use your arrow keys to get there. Then go in as you have been and try restore that way. Hope it helps, it worked for me.

U can try these two options:
1. Restart the computer >continue pressing F8 key.DOS
will open.Select "last good configuration that worked" press enter.
Your system will be restored at a specified date.
2.Open windows DOS from Start menu Accessories >command menu . Write restore. You will get options to select system point & select it press enter.
Done.

Whenever you turn you pc on,does the F11 sign appear? If so then whenever you immediately start your pc keep tapping F11,this will take you to a page where you can have several restore, reboot or a total default (factory settings). Try this 1st then see the options, turn off + choose what you want to do.Then turn back on +commence your Mission.

Why do you need to restore your computer is the question I am asking as sometimes you can not undo some mistakes.
