Perhaps one should consider tha fact that it is the bigger nations and thus bigger teams that are ruining and running football. Take the G14 for example, set up to protect themselves, irrespective of how well they do.
Why is it called the champions league when not every team in it is the respective champion of their nation?
At the start of each season most people could quite easily predict which nation is going to win the champions league and from a choice of 4 countries there is a good chance of being right.
Is it right that Italy, England, Spain etc etc get 4 teams in the champions league, whereas some countries have only one team which has to go through many many qualifiying rounds just to have a crack at the 'champions' league.
Oh, the bigger countries can probably afford to carry on as now, but for the smaller nations, how are they meant to improve when they aren't getting the same chance.
Why not just make it that the champions league is just that, for champions only. Every country gets only 1 team in it?
Well the reason is simple the bigger nations wouldn't go for that as it means money that would be theirs goes to other places. It is a case of the rich getting richer and the poor suffering more.

I dont agree at all to what Platini is trying to do. Sure its fair to reduce the amount of English and other countries participation in the CL to three and give other small nations a chance to play in the CL, but im not going to pay my hard earn money to watch Man Utd vs Maccabi Haifa. I'll rather watch Man Utd vs Real Madrid. It is called the Champions League. Only for the champions!

Kind of mate. He realises that The English Premiership is the best league in the world, Hence, after the first legs, England could more than likely have four teams in the 1/4 finals.
I think it's stupid because Liverpool won The European Cup in 2005 after finishing 4th. Arsenal got to the final last year & finished 4th. So surely these times have the right to be in The Champions League.
By the way The Champions League is basically a european super league. That's what Fifa always wanted so they should re-name it.

The teams from the premiership at the moment are the richest in europe, every country(bar italy) is well represented, of course platini would love to see the french league compete for players, from all over the world, but to say he is trying to ruin the english game is a bit far fetched.
in the good old days champions meant, champions, and no qualifying rounds, TNS v REAL, LINFIELD v BARCA, if hes going to change things at least share the wealth, give the smaller countrys a chance of "5 minutes of fame", otherwise don't fix whats not broken.

The chief throughout this among English golf equipment is Liverpool soccer club, who've gained it 5 [5] instances so a techniques. it rather is a huge checklist for Liverpool to have. the subsequent closest is Manchester United who've gained it 3 [3] instances so a techniques. be conscious: we've a recognition for those questions in Australia - they are called "Dorothy Dix" questions. in case you do no longer understand what meaning, ask an Aussie pal - we've a impressive style of those style of questions in our sittings of parliaments at the two state and federal point. Cheers.

If the champion from a smaller country doesn't make it through qualifying, than that means that they don't deserve the spot in the Champion's League. You can't turn away team's like Liverpool and Arsenal, who are 3rd and 4th in the EPL right now to give a team that doesn't even deserve to be there a spot in the 32.

it's a political move by plantini who is trying to maintain the support of countries with 1 or 0 team in the cl. come on, why would you want to tinker with the current successful format if not perpetuate yourself in position.
