I have just discovered that I am pregnant, there are no ante natal classes where I live, can anyone reccomend a good DVD that won't scare me?

To be honest I wouldnt advise watching a woman giving birth, I remember seeing it on TV when I was pregnant and it terrified me, its nnot pretty and it scares you that THAT has to come out of THERE ! I read loads of pregnancy magasines such as PRIMA pregnancy and birth, PREGNANCY etc and these were so useful and helped me know what to expect. I went to 4 ante natal classes and didnt find them at all helpful, the midwife will guide you through the birth as it happens, as they are all different.

I gave birth 4 months ago, I wont lie, it hurts like hell, but its only one day out of your life and its quickly forgotten when that amazing baby is placed in your arms and I would do it again tommorrow (but my partner wants to wait a while !!!)
Enjoy your pregnancy and think about life with the baby , the labour is jsut a stepping stone.
Congratulations,I cannot express how amazing having a baby is :)

all pregnancys and births are different so a dvd isnt essential. Go on pregnancy and birth websits and read up on them. Also Living tv and discovery home and health channels show women giving birth take a look and good luck

i wouldn't advise you to watch a DVD on birth you don't need antenatal classes they are a load of s**t it will come to you when you are ready to push. I know most people think the way I'm going to put this is disgusting but it's true when your in labour and ready to push the way to do it is push as if your trying to do a very large pooh
