I compare possessing a weapon of mass destruction to owning a gun. Bring your discussion down to comparing countries to neighbors in a town, because with the ability to travel quickly around the globe and disperse weapons of mass destruction globally from a distant location, that is what the world has become.

If you have a peaceful neighbor who has always demonstrated kindness and concern for others and simply wants a gun to protect himself from burglars, intruders, etc., then no one would challenge his right to own that gun.

On the other hand, if you had a neighbor who has a known criminal history, frequently threatens his neighbors with bodily harm, even abuses his own family, then you have a very valid reason to be concerned and even work to prevent his owning a gun...because you obviously can't be assured that he won't, at some point, use that gun on you or one of your other peaceful neighbors.

No country should have weapons of mass distruction. Not even the United States. Unfortunately, we live in a world of greed and hate and those weapons are created by man. Thank you.

Well in reality NO country should have weapons of mass destruction. In practice, however, that's never going to happen due to mankind's flawed design that seeks destruction for power.

I WILL say that any country who HAS WMD's telling another country NOT to have WMD's is a futile & silly exercise in comedy.
ESPECIALLY if the country who tells the others not to has USED WMD's on others before.

As long as One has WMD's they ALL will seek WMD's. To be able to protect AGAINST the ones who HAVE the WMD's. As well as the desire to enforce their will upon others.
It goes 'round & 'round. Mankind will most likely see his end at his own hands. Inevitable really. Just enjoy the meantime while you can.

yes, every nation has the right to defend itself, just look how fast the US backed down once n-korea tested their nuclear bomb. having weapons of mass destruction, is a great deterrent.
