By the end of the day, I always look a mess! My face has gone shiny and blotchy and it looks like I don't have any foundation on. I use Clinique Superbalanced with their powder, which doesn't see to be doing the trick. I am quite pale and have less than flawless skin :( so I need something long-lasting with reasonably good coverage. But I've been searching my whole adult life, and so far haven't found the right one. And I've tried sooo many, I can't even list them all.

I am only really happy with my skin and makeup when I have a tan (and don't really need the makeup so much as tans hide so many flaws!)- maybe I'd be better off fake tanning regularly? Fake tan tends to go orangey if you don't have any real tan underneath, but is that better than just looking a pale blotchy mess? I can't decide!

I had the same problem, I now use Estee Lauder double wear and it works a treat, if you go to your nearest makeup store where they sell it they will give you a free make over and tell which shade is best for you. Its a bit expensive but worth it and honestly it stays on until you remove it with makeup remover.

my sister and i have just started using Lancôme Photogénic Ultra Naturel SPF 10. I'm in my teens so my skin's always changing: one minute it's spotty, the next it's oily, then dry...this foundation works quite well coz it adapts to your skin tone. If your skin's dry, I'd recommend that you use a bit of moisturiser on your face around 30 mins or an hour before you're going to apply the make up. If your skin's oily, there are special sheets you can buy in places like Boots that absorb grease. After washing your face with cold water and patting it dry, wipe it with one of those sheets. then apply the foundation. I've heard it looks good if you use a lighter foundation (one that matches your skin tone) over all your face, and then a slightly darker one on your cheek bones, chin, etc. Take your foundation with you and keep some make up removing towel things in your bag, so if you see your face starts to look bad towards the end of the day, use the removers and apply some more foundation so it keeps fresh. Good luck!

if you want to know two really REALLY good products its either got to be dream matte mousse by maybellene or super smooth base by the body shop. They are a bit pricey but they do the trick. I had a similar problem like you and i've used either one of those products ever since and plus they are long lasting. And also the best tanning lotion i've ever used on my face is dove because it doe'snt make your face go orange at all it just gives you a really nice brown touch to your face and plus it smells nicer than other tanning products i've found . :) but i think instead of looking orange i'd rather stay pale if I was you.

im very pale also, and i always used to get really annoyed at hoe little staying power my make up had, but now i use loreal perfect match foundation with the perfect match powder in the same shade on top. the foundation stays put really well, and the powder makes it last longer again. also, if your worried about looking pale you could use a bronzer on top of your foundation and powder, but be careful coz most bronzers are sparkly which looks too dressy for daytime. barry m bronzer is a matte finish bronzer which is good on pale skin.

i have used some expensive foundations and they always seem to look awful at the end of the day . So i tried rimmels Recover Foundation and now i would not beable to live without it. it stays on all day and doest dry my skin out . i put 2 thin layers on and my skin looks flawless and then a thin layer of bronzer which also helps it to stay on. Rimmel Recover Foundation's EnergyBoost TM complex replumps skin and replenishes the complexion.
It's brightening formula boosts your skin leaving it feeling replenished, retextured and radiant.

i agree with fairy mary. I am using estee lauder double wear foundation too. Its long lasting, wont wear off till u wash them off, even after a dip in the pool it stays on.

I dont normally use moisturiser before applying this foundation coz everytime i did, no matter how long i waited for the moisturiser to sink in befor applying foundation, my foundation always runs in a couple of hours and i ended up having bad breakouts.

So this is what i do, apply it on my face, followed by estee lauder translucent powder. This powder ensures my make up staying power. This make up would stay on my face on a 30hrs flight.

I would spend my money and focus on good skin care instead of trying ot cover something up. Foundation should match you skin completely it is not mean to color your skin. I do have some customers that use a bronzer or sunless tanning lotion on their face.
Make sure your products are oil-free and non-comedogentic

I highly recommend Bare Escentuals mineral makeup! It's made of 100% pure minerals. I have very sensitive and acne prone skin, so I have to be very careful of what I use. I have been using their products for years. With this makeup you have the ability to build as much coverage as you need without ever looking cakey. It evens out skin tone, covers up pimples, blemishes, scars, discoloration, all of our imperfections.
Check out their website at http://www.bareminerals.com/ for more info. You can get starter kits at places like Sephora and Ulta. Hope you try it out, it really worked for me!
