It depends what kind of dent you have in your tyre. Cause if it's a small one that will not cause problems in the future then you will have no problem at all but if it is a bit big then I think you should get a replacement of the tyre.
As for buying a new tyre or not, I recommend that you will buy 2 NEW tyres and of the same manufacture and of the same size, one on the left and one on the right. For example if the denty tyre is on the front left hand side then you should buy one for the left and one for the right. The reason is because of the tread the tyre has. Cause if you have the left more grippy than that on the right, if you hit the brake fiercely (a thing that from time to time all drivers have to do) you will have your vehicle turn to the left which can cause an accident.
So if I were you, I would definately buy two new tyres. I know that this will cost you more but it will be safer for you, for your passengers and for the other people that are on the street.
Hope this helps dear and Good Luck

If it's a steel wheel, the tyre fitter might be able bash the dent out, if it's fairly small. A large ball-peen hammer would suffice.
If it's an alloy wheel, it's a bit more tricky. Heavy handedness can crack the alloy. Still fixable, though. I wouldn't let a tyre fitter try and fix it. Take it to a professional wheel repairer.
If it's a very small ding at the very edge of the rim, it shouldn't matter anyway.
When you take it to the tyre shop, they should spin it up on the wheel balancer to make sure it's running true, before fitting a new tyre.

depends on the size of the cut i suppose. only way to be certain is get it checked. but then u do run the risk of getting ripped off. do u have any friends in the trade?
"Tyres fail if they have serious cuts, bulges or other damage. The wear on the tyre is checked with a tyre tread depth gauge to ensure compliance. The tyres are examined to ensure that there is no fouling with any part of the vehicle."

No they cannot fail you on this once it isnt effecting the safety of the tyre on the wheel. if its only a small dent you should be ok.

Not necessarily. Pop into an MoT station & ask their advice, I'm sure they won't mind. Damage to a roadwheel is checked for the MoT, but it depends how bad it is.

I doubt it, but when you go to get the tyre changed, ask their advice first. Or take it to an MOT station and ask their advice - they won't mind!
