For the most part, yes, if you were Japanese and went to China, you would be recognized as Japanese. Why? You speak a different language. You might also have different physical features. Chinese tend to have more roundish faces.

Of course this is just a very general thing. There are Chinese-looking Japanese and vice-versa.

Other things: clothes, preferences, eating habits, etc.

But really, language is a biggy. Pretty different sounds going on. Chinese is full of all sorts of inflections. Japanese is pretty limited in the sound department. There are only 5 basic vowel sounds.

The japanese are a little taller than the chinese. The koreanese are the shortest of all of them. I read that somewhere but I can't remember where.

Chinese & Japanese are not the same. They don't look the same. They don't speak the same language. You get the idea.

Not by looking at your face. Probably only by the way you dress and your accent. I'm Chinese-American, and I lived in Thailand for a few months. People there didn't know I wasn't Thai until they heard my accent.

Usually I can tell immediately by looking at them..But the cultural differences are so vastly different that it's a no-brainer to tell the difference.

No, I'm sure they could tell you from the other. It's a whole different culture.
