well their a few things, first gas ,comeing out of the carburator, top, are running out of the botton, black smoke from the tail pipe,,, hart to start, an when does, spit an spuder,,, spark plugs, wet with gas,an some time you crank the car are truck, an you hear a loud bang,,when it back fire,

float messed up and flooding
gaskets leaking
jet seats are scarred
pump inside the carb. is bad and wont take gas.
metering rods are bad.
needle valve and seat is wore and not seating.
choke and pull-off isnt working very good.

Deggective carb would give lots of smoke and it would also give rise to misfiring of the engnie....
