I know there is something i can get wet (newspaper, paper bag) and put in the tank so she can rest in. What is it? What is the best way to do this?

Damp sphagnum moss is the best thing for any snake to get into to assist it in shedding but a bowl or bath of water big enough so that it can submerge will do as well.

do not get any humidifiers because the snake will get an upper respiratory infection. when the shell of skin is ready to come off, take a container with a cover and put breathing holes in the cover, then place a couple of layers of paper towels down then fille the container up with warm not hot water a tiny bit past the paper towels. then put the corn snake in and close the container so she can soften the shell, after put her back in her tank and make sure she has a place to pull the skin off like a rock or cork
bark. Even some moist moss will do it, and makee sure you spray the tank.

Get some spaghnum moss and moisten it and put it in a hide for the snake. This not only provides moisture, but will also creat a humid hide to help loosen the skin. Also, it helps at time to give them a warm "bath". Just get a basin or tub and put a little warm water in it. WARM, not hot, be sure of that. And just enough to come up about half way of your snake. Let him soak a little and that will help to loosen the skin. Make sure the eyecaps come off when it does shed.

I keep a bowl of wet aspen in the viv at all times. Some of my snakes really enjoy it, others don't seem to care one way or the other. It appears to me, the darker the snake, the more trouble they have with shedding and the more moisture they need. The light colored snakes rarely soak and peel off in one nice piece.
