it is used for news tickers and other types of applications, it is in the same family of web program as that of xml...

you will need a rss player to be able to listen to rss feeds

RSS is like a news feed.. i guess it might be comparable to a news group..


what you can do is if you set up an "RSS" place to GET the 'feeds'... for example.. you could get the latest news from CNN.. AND the journals from your friends blog... in real time-ish..
