I think when you are talking about particles of all substances you are referring to subatomic particles. The particles the atoms are made of.
Let's do a little grouping first
Basic building blocks of substances are molecules (and sometimes atoms)
Basic building blocks of molecules are atoms.
Basic building blocks of atoms are (according to N. Bohr's model)
Nucleus and electron whirling around that nucleus.
The basic building blocks of nucleus are protons and neutrons.

Is that helpful? Please let me know.

particles of which substances are made are the atoms.if you go on breaking a substance(pure) into smaller and smaller particles there will come a stage where you cannot break it any smaller.these smallest particles to which the substance can be broken are known as atoms.

All substances are made atoms or molecules(group of atoms).
Atoms are made by nucleus (centre part of an atom) and electrons. Nucleus is surrounded by electrons. Nucleus are made by protons and neutrons.Protons are positive charged particles and electrons are negative charged particles.Neutrons are neutral particles.e.g., H-hydrogen,Au-gold
Molecule is a group of atoms.e.g.,H2O-water molecule.
