Do you not think speaking to your doctor, and getting some basic blood test done could help, considering its been over a year?
Regarding tablets, there are loads on the market, which benefit whilst you are trying... Check out your local chemist, Boots or Superdrugs, there is plenty to choose from. They won't help you get pregnant, but they will make sure you have the right nutrients in your body for a baby..
Don't get down about it... stress is the last thing you need. Consider speaking to your doctor, I'm sure everything will be fine soon enough... and remember to enjoy trying, don't start making it a chore!!

folic acid wont increase your chances of conceiving but it is vital to maximise healthy feotal development in pregnancy so your doing the right thing by taking it. It can take 18mths for a healthy couple to conceive so try not to worry to much. Eat a healthy diet and take regular exercise. Have sex at your most fertile time of the month, use an ovulation calender or tests to help you with this. Being either over or under weight can also reduce a womans chance of conception. Agnus castus can be good for regualting a womans periods and balancing hormones, so it maybe worth a try, you can buy this from many health food shops as its a herbal remedy. If in another 6mths time you have had no success then see your gp for some basic fertility tests. If however your in a position to go private then you could get fertility tests done now. good luck

First of all Folic acid will not help you to get pregnant. Folic acid is great to take when you are TTC because it helps to prevent birth defects. You should take it and I would suggest taking it in a prenatal vitamin. This way you are getting the folic acid and a really great vitamin. You can get them over the counter at any drug store (you cna ask the pharmacy if you need help)
Please dont get down on yourself. It takes lots of people time to conceive. I dont know if you are intersted in this but there is a product getting rave reviews called Pre~seed. Type it into you internet search tool and go to the site and check it out. People who have been trying for years and years are getting pregnant on the first cycle using it. It is all natural and it is worth a shot. My husband and I are using it this month. Good Luck and let me know if you have any further questions or just need some support. Good Luck

I am also trying for a baby, i have been trying now for 3 years, i only decided to go to the doctors this year, my partner had to have a sperm count and his blood tested and i have had a blood test to test the FSH and LH whatever that is. I am also going to have a Infertility blood test this month which is taken 21 days from the first day of your period. There are no tablets on the market in this county which will help you get pregnant, There are is Folic acid that you can buy which will help your body prepare for pregnancy which you can buy from a health shop. I was also advised by my doctor NOT to use the ovulation kits which you can by from the chemsit as they are just a way of building up hopes and costing you money, and to have sex between the 6th day up to the 16th day from your first period. Its hard to listen to people when thay say just relax and try to forget about it because you cant, not when you want it so badly, I would go to the doctors and have your blood tested and have your partner tested too. always have the results together as you need each other for support. Dont make the same mistake as i did and make sex mechanical and only on your fertile times, that also puts stress on the relationship and on yourself. The doctor also told me yesterday to have "deep sex" whatever that is, i was to embarrased to ask but you may know.
I hope everything works out for you. Good luck

The worse thing you can do chick is to worry about it as if you are stressed it will take you even longer. I know its hard but you need to relax and go with the flow. Make sure you are eating a diet rich in fresh fruit and veg (and your partner too!) - apparently the male should be eating a diet rich in Zinc! I only know this because I myself and trying to conceive and have had advice from the doctor. It is advisable to start taking folic acid as soon as you start to try conceiving and both of you either cut out or cutdown on caffiene and alcohol.

Folic acid is great, not necessarily making it easier to conceive but it is vital for the baby to grow and develop, same for you. I guess just general things like eating healthily, not too much alcohol or fags. Have you had any tests done? I know with me, as soon as i decided to leave it for a bit, it happened, and a lot of women say that, as soon as they relax about it it happens! If not, Zeta West is a good one to try if it gets really serious! Good luck!!

Folic acid wont help you get pregnant it will just prepare your body and make sure you have nutrients etc.. to help the baby grow and you to be healthy.
I suggest after a yr you see your GP to run some tests, it maybe that you have polycystic ovarian syndrome / a blockage or something thats making it harder, and tests would be the best way to find out whats going on.

If I were you I would go and see a GP, explain that you have been trying for over a year. The normal procedure is to wait until you have been trying for 18 months and then refer you on for fertility testing/treatments.
However if you have any existing medical problems that will delay you in conceiving (i.e PCOS) then the doc will refer you after 12 months of trying.
Hang in there things will work out for you, just stay positive.
