The best and cheapest college course is CLAIT. You get use different packages and the Internet. You have to pass 5 modules to get the qualification.
It cost me £30 for 100 hours in front of the computer. You can work as fast or as slowly as you want. There are qualified teachers in the room to help. The other students in the room are at different stages, and most of them are willing to stop and help you if you get stuck - they are all ages and abilities.

There are plenty of course to go on. Try the web and you will probably find one to suit you. When I first had a PC I went on a course at the local night school and it was free for 2 terms after which the price went up to £50. I learnt a great deal and it gave me loads of confidence.

I understand what others are saying - but realisitically, there are so many books out there to help. Learning by yourself is a lot better, if you have a computer, you can work out all the short cut keys by practising - I learnt myself. I have done all typing qualifications possible and enjoy this, but I learnt excel by myself and now my colleagues at work ask for my imput. Practice does make perfect

take a computer programming class. they have several levels and you will learn basic steps and programming at the same time. in 4 to 6 weeks you can certify for the class stage you are in, and take other classes as wanted or needed. city colleges and many community centers offer this type of training. good luck.
