Does it takes that long too for you to write some story?
Does it exhausts you after 5 hours?

Does it get faster, when you get more experienced? Like instead for 5 pages you get 20 pages for 5 hours?

Depends on what type of book it is, as a fictional book is likely to take far longer per page then a textbook, as you would have prior researched before writing for non-fiction

If I'm walloping words out without a great deal of care and attention, I tend to write about 1000 words an hour. However, if I'm editing as I go and thinking carefully about each word, it takes a great deal longer! I think this is really what it comes down to - and I think there are advantages to both approaches. Obviously, everyone who wants to write needs to learn to edit and rewrite their own work, to see the good parts and deal with the bad. The question is whether you should try to do that at the point of writing, or whether you should press on with what you're doing and fix it later.

Given that you're asking a question about how long it takes you to write things, I'm guessing that you maybe tend to obsess over every word. My suggestion would be to try not to do this - try, as an experiment, just bashing your story out any old how, and then coming back to it at a later date to re-write it. You may learn some interesting things - like perhaps that you'll have new ideas you hadn't thought of before, as you write.

Every writer should have the luxury of accepting that every first draft is always dreadful - give yourself this gift and see what happens. Yes, you'll need to re-write it; but to be honest, everything needs to be rewritten to be really good - even stories which have taken you a long time in the first place.

Good luck with your writing - have fun trying the high-speed approach!

Doesn't really need to be 1 hour per page. You just have to have a good imagination, and you should know how to put those imaginations into words. That's how most writers do it. Then review their work after they have finished writing about a page or two... Perhaps you should imagine a bit more... XD
