Sould drugs such as Cannabis, Cocaine and Ecstacy be legalised and taxed heavily by the govt. Would this cut drug realated murders i.e if a user can buy from a secure environment like a chemist then they wouldn't have to buy off a dodgy dealer who might come and kill them if they can't pay or something like that.

Yeah... I'm sure the number of deaths from your supplier not getting paid is huge....

herion and crack need legalising because the cost to supply them to addicts is millions less than the crime they cause to fund their use.

These people have a true addiction, people going out and using drugs just for the sake of it are true muppets screwing with their lives, but thats their choice. I've messed around with drugs but now ive grown up.

There are so many arguments pro and con, that the only way to answer this question would be through careful study of the evidence - eg. looking at how much drug use increases (and deaths increase) when a drug is legalised (one can look to countries where this has been done for data), looking at how much drug related crimes and deaths from impure drugs, etc. go down once drugs are made legal, looking at how harmful to people's health particular drugs are, and so on. We have legal drugs - alcohol for instance is not a mild substance. What needs to be decided is which drugs should be legal and which banned, based on actual empirical evidence and study of the balance of harm vs. benefits.

I think Cannabis should be made legal the other i don't agree with!

Cannabis is probably better than going out and getting drunk. How many fights, domestic issues and other alcohol related things do you feel when your stoned?! You don't! i think if the choice was made that Cannabis should be legalised and alcohol should be illegal (although i love a drink but you get my point) More damaged is caused by a drunk person that a stoned person when will people realise and WAKE UP!!!!

They all need legalising. Whatever we might think about them it is a huge industry. It needs to be controlled so the whole operation is not controlled by criminals. These people make huge sums of money from it all but there is also enormous amounts of misery caused by the whole industry. Legalising it and controlling the distribution would at least go someway to alleviating the problem

I think something like Cannabis should be legal, because it's about as harmful as cigarettes and not as harmful as chronic alcohol abuse. The problem with the other drugs is the expense of making them causes them to be very expensive, and thus contributes to crime. Also, they cause many medical problems, and guess who ends up paying for the health care?

i think cannabis should be legalized, yes it's addictive but so's smoking and drinking and that's legal...i've heard of old grannies that are actually 'prescribed' cannabis to help with arthritis and other aches and pains.
coke and ecstacy im not convinced, they are far more addictive and way more dangerous, health wise. if you could just buy it over the counter rather than from a dealer, yes it's safer but imagine what the world would be like - we'd all be like zombies!

Cannabis, yes
Cocaine, no. it would be more trouble than it is worth to legalize it.
Ecstacy, no because this is not a recreational drug. it is powerful tool in therapy, but everyday bloke on the street should be able to get their hands on it anytime they feel like it.

no they shouldnt be legal even chronic because our society would be a bunch of druggies and it would be worse than it already is. imagine everyone being high all the time nothing would get done and if coke was legal everyone would be strung out and go crazy and if xtc was legal there would be even more parentless children
