I would not dare to influence your kids.
Teach your children that gay people are humans and we should have equal rights. Stop.
I trust your children are educated enough, or will be to understand the impossibility of a gay couple to "produce" children. Trust me they'll understand.
Teach your children to respect people.
Teach yourself that equal rights do not signify "negative" influences on them, yourself or your family. Quite the contrary.

When did gays/lesbians/womans rights group have the right to influence my kids? You're right and conversely when did straights have the right to influence mine? Not so black and white now is it?
Now as for your list, let's take a look:
1. You can vote: True enough, no argument here.
2. You can complain, tell me that my mom didn't raise me right: I can't address that one since I have personally never said that nor have I ever heard anyone else publically say that.
3. You can report people on yahoo without giving a fair basis of facts and arguments, and probably limit my freedom: That one cuts both ways, take a walk in the Religious section as anything other than Christian and see how long it takes. That's just childishness on all sides, not just gays.
4. You can not accept the fact that the world does not have to agree with you: Oh but I do, that said, I simply don't accept that your non-acceptance should give you the right to harm me and tell me I am not allowed to live my life, which, given the chance, many Christians would do.
5. You can get a job: Ah, but can I keep it if my boss finds out I'm gay. In many states, you can still be denied employment or be fired simply for being gay.
You can get 401, you can see a doctor: Only if the Doctor isn't a Fundamentalist, Evangelical or Born Again Christian. Even in some Emergency rooms, Doctors have refused to treat a patient who is gay simply because they don't approve. So much for the Hypocratic Oath.
you can open gay clubs: Yes, and they tend to get attacked quite a bit, and in some cases bombed.
all for the sake that so you can change the world into the "better" place it is today: Opening a bar is not about changing the world, it's a place for like minded people to go without having to hide who they are or get beat up, or worse.
Thanks a lot: your welcome.
6. You can bear arms if you want: Your point is?
7. You can plead the fifth if you want, but you chose not to: So what you're really whining about is that we simply won't crawl and hide and be submissive to Christian tyranny anymore, well guess what, your forefathers didn't submit to the tyranny of a king, why the hell should we submit to you?
Now I trust you find my answers concise and on point, if you have anything else to say, feel free, I will not report you, but I certainly won't shy away from either.
RESPECT: it is earned not bestowed and having earned my right in this world, I will demand respect, I will ask for nothing more and will surely accept nothing less.
Here Endeth the Lesson

Ah, disingenuous to the core.
1. I can and DO vote. Remember that.
2. Whether or not you were "raised right" is a quite subjective judgment but your actions do speak of how and what you were taught as a child.
3. You might want to reread the Community Guidelines. Your "freedom" is not an issue on here, you have only the right to post so long as it does not Violate the Community Guidelines. That is the binding agreement and law in here. If you receive a Violation unfairly you do have the option of having it reviewed and overturned. I have had several violations returned and gotten my points back.
4. While you feel the "world" doesn't have to "agree" with us, there are rights and regulations that are ignored and denied us simply for being who we are and you are lying if you say otherwise.
5. There are places where we can still be fired for being homosexual, refused housing and substandard medical treatment simply because the doctor thinks you are a "sinner" and deserve anything that happens. Regardless of what you think, the world is becoming a better place in spite of everything people like you do to hold it back.
6. I can and do own a gun.
7. Actually, my partner cannot plead the fifth, we do not have any legal ties which will allow for that, thanks again.
Yes, I want the exact same tax breaks you get for being in a committed relationship. The fact that we can't bear children does not make us any less worthy of them than any infertile heterosexual couple. No, I do not want my own country, I want the rights that are due me by citizenship of this country, those rights are denied on no legitimate grounds(every single reason goes back to a religious basis and is therefore invalid).
You continue to pose hostile and inflammatory questions which are against the community guidelines. If they are not a report will not get them removed(usually). Here's a hint, using slang terms for homosexual, inferring that your religious preference is somehow superior and gives you some sort of right to harass and demean others, non-questions, rants, off-topic spam, and many other things are reportable offenses. Your Constitutional rights are waived when you sign the agreement to abide by the Yahoo TOS, when you violate that, you are subject to removal and suspension. It's that simple.
Mental care facilities are woefully underfunded and not given adequate treatment,
I volunteer at soup kitchens and try to help the poor as much as I can, do you?
Your children have the right to decide for themselves whether or not they wish to procreate, "we" aren't influencing them to do anything other than make that decision for themselves and be proud of who you are, whatever that happens to mean(Homosexual or Heterosexual). With over 300 million in this country, I don't believe hat blindly popping out children just to make the parental units happy is wise at all. Most thinking people realize that.

I want the basic freedoms that are afforded to others without sacrificing my pride and my lifestyle. Basic freedoms for all are fought every day by various groups of people. There has not been a time in history when one group or another has not been pushed down, or "held back". For such a sophisticated and rich country, you would think that the American people could accept what is different by now. I want what every other heterosexual couple has, the ability to feel free enough that people will not call me sick, or say "oh!" when I tell them I am a lesbian. You may not like what I do, or understand it, but that does not give anyone the right to tell me I am going to burn in hell because I choose to spend my life with another woman. I work hard, I pay my bills, and I follow the laws in my state, I am a good citizen. Let me live in peace, safe to walk the streets, and free to say what I need to say. I don't need a separate country, I want to be able to live in the country I live in, and enjoy everything about it. I want to hold hands with the one that I love, and have children with her, and pay a mortgage, car payments and live. The difference is simple, you assume that gay/lesbian etc. don't care about the mentally retarded, the poor and children's values; when you assume that you are ignorant to who we are.

You are missing the entire point. What we want is totally equality. Yes we want tax breaks...why shouldn't we have them...common law straight couples get them...I can't bear arms (I'm Canadian--but I am married because of that). We can't always get jobs...gays are often discrimated against in the work force..If my husband were to be gravely ill and in the hospital..under the US rules I wouldn't be allowed in to see him because I don't qualify as 'family only'--how cruel is that. We have been together for 20 years..why should we not have the more advantageous death benefits (wills don't do it all). Many of these problems are solved already for me because I am Canadian.
Yes, what about the poor, the mentally challenged? Everyone should look after them better.
. As far as your kids values go..they should also learn to accept and respect that homosexuality is a part of the normal human condition. The rate of gay teen suicide is at a staggeringly high rate largely because of issues of low self esteem caused by your way of thought. Nobody chooses to be gay.
It sounds like if you had your way --women wouldn't be allowed to vote and men would still be required to work 16 hour days.
I would like to think that our society is progressing ..you seem to view this progress as a glass half-full.
If it weren't for smaller groups pushing for betterment..the world would not have changed much in the last millenium. I quote Margaret Mead "Never think that a small group of dedicated individuals can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."

The answer to your question is quite simple. Someone has to try to clean up the damage you are doing to your children when you are teaching them the "values" that it's fine to be bigoted and hate gays.
As for your limp argument that your children should "continue producing children", what is your view on straight couples who do NOT want children? Ought they to bring unwanted children into the world? There are enough unwanted kids out there now who are unloved and ill cared for. Your belief is that the problem should be compounded by "continuing to produce children".

I guess they're tired of having to justify their existence to ignorant people. Like most people, they just want to live quiet lives without being harrassed. Be honest, have you had any barriers put in your way because you're straight? I doubt it. You probably think that any time you fail it's because someone else, some 'minority' has been given an unfair advantage over you.
Newsflash: people fail because they aren't good enough, or they don't try hard enough.

I'm thinking it was about the same time that the religious groups did. Our society routinely brainwashes our young into believing their particular religious values. The only reason rights groups get dissed is because they are trying to break the brainwashing.
A human is a human. A right is a right.

Your kids values are NOT their parents' values. They have the right to choose their friends, career, and live a full, independent life as gay people. If their parents are going to be closed minded aboutt he gay community and decide to chase their kids out of the home when they come out to them, I think these parents shouldn't have had kids in the first place cos they are basing their "value-system" on a heap of lies: lies that gay people are 2nd class citizens, gay people are bad and adulterous etc. Straight people are all these things too btw. Gay people have the right to have all the benefits that straight people do. Don't blame gays -- blame the government: the Bush admin., and don't blame the kids. They are just growing into themselves and they have the right to choose their life based on who they want to be, and not who their parents expect them to be!!!

Children should have the right to make their own minds up about things and form their own opinions. However as a parent, you have a responsibility to teach you're child that everyone is equal, and things like racism/homophobia are wrong and immoral.
