2000 was mainly designed for buisness use. Combines the ease of use of W98 and the security of WinXP....But it will run on 300mhz and 128mb ram good. Where as XP will be slow and sluggish @ everything it does. Windows 2000 will run Office 2003 Professional. I have it installed on my server and MS Office runs perfectly...99% of the drivers for XP are the same drivers for 2000 for most hardware.....thanks

Most of the free computers I have don't run that slow, anymore.
I am running Pentium class 350Mhz to 1.667Ghz systems.
*BSD (25 of them), & GNU/Linux (over 410 of them) are better.
Most of my curbside and dumpster donated systems run http://pclinuxos.com so, are immune to the "114,000 Microsoft Virus Definitions" , have 5500 free games, programs, suites, apps. and, run upto 50X faster after the 30 minute install on a 10 Gb partition.
Join the 21st century. Dump those Model A's and run a real concurrent multi-processing system.

win2000pro is.........
faster to load
more stable
less resource hungry
does not have to be activated via microsoft website therefore avoiding any glitches in their database of valid product keys.
not full of graphics wasting cuddly little icons and shiny taskbars/windows.
message to "wirelessmouse"
