Help her find a hobby or get involved in a club....if there is something that she enjoys doing or wants to learn, then facilitate her participation and this could help her make new friends.

Two years? OK, here is the answer: First of all, open the wardrobe you have been keepeing her in, and let her out. She can then join one of the following NATIONAL YOUTH organisations, where she will meet people of her own age and have fun fun fun. Here they are: Army Cadet Force (Head is Prince Philip); Sea Cadet Corps (Head is Prince Andrew), Air Training Corps (Head is Prince Philip), Scouts or Guides; Venture Scouts, Girls Venture Training Corps; Any Church Youth group, although they tend to spend lots sof time praying about what happens when they die, rather than making things happen when they are alive; Any Amateur Theatrical Group; A choir. I am just glad that she is one of the 12 1/2 % of Americans who actually have a Passport. That's a good start. Have a nice day and stop worrying.

The british are really less social than others. She can join some church related community service group, and can make friends and interact with the group as a start-up. The best would be to search (maybe online) other teenagers like herself, who find in this unenviable position, and form a anglo-american group of friends, who mutually entertain each other and be friends.

English people are hard to get to know. I'm in the same boat as her. Poor girl. I don't know what to suggest...maybe have her join a riding club or something? Do you have any friends with daughters her age maybe you could plan a trip or activity together?

Well if she had some friends in america, then have her write them, maybe try to get her involved in some school activity where she could socalize with others.

2 years is a pretty long time.. is there no way at all that you could move back??

once you have been in one place for 2 years and not made friends - you are unlikely to.. especially as a teenager

Sorry to be harsh...

I know what you are concerned about. make sure all family knows where she is located at all times. sounds like we are bossy parents, but we love our children and they are always our baby. leave a little space but let them know they are loved and we all worry
