Yes, in PM Shmi does make it clear that she just "became pregnant".
But.....
While Palpatine/Sidious does tell Anakin about Darth Plagueis' ability to create/defy life, I don't believe he does it to hint that Plagueis is responsible for Anakin's birth (Although some SW site's suggest this). I believe that Palaptine only told Anakin of this to add to the internal conflict Anakin was dealing with; remember, Anakin was easily tempted with the idea of gaining more power because he thought it could save Padme. He didn't want to lose her since he already lost his mother and felt guilt at not being able to save her.
With all that stuff said.....that doesn't mean he wan't hiding something...
Look at the end of PM and notice how protectively he places his hand on Ani's shoulder. By ROTS , Anakin trusted Palpatine a great deal.
Fast foward to Jedi, Palpatine has spent a great many years orchastrating the life of Vader and want's Luke too, at this point. It was Palpatine (not realizing that Vader already knew and was keeping it from him) that told Vader about the existence of Luke in ESB- he felt him through the Force. If you listen carefully when Vader turns on Palpatine and tosses him down the shaft on the Death Star, amist all the noise of the soundtrack it sounds like Vader says, "Damn you, Father".
Re-watch it and listen carefully before you disagree. I think it is a reasonable possiblity that Palpatine/Sidious was Anakin's father.
Remember- when Qui Gon theorized that Anakin's birth was the result of "the Force" itself and/or of the midicholrians it was before the Jedi were fully aware of Darth Sidious. It was only after the confrontation with Darth Maul, that they speculated there must be another Sith Lord, they didn't know for sure. And it's safe to assume they would have had no idea the extent of his power. Look at how long he lived a double life as a Senator, then Chancellor, while also being a Sith. The Jedi couldn't feel his deception at this time, so it would never occur to them at that point to connect Anakin's birth with Sidious.

Anakin is found on Tatooine by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson), who is convinced that he is the "Chosen One" foretold by the Jedi prophecy to bring balance to the Force. His mother, Shmi (Pernilla August), says that he has no father, and that she simply became pregnant with him. Qui-Gon discovers that Anakin has the highest known number of midi-chlorians, a measure of Force-aptitude, and theorizes that the boy is a creation of the Force itself.

Anakin´s Father was a Jedi. But his father and his mother could not stay together bcuz of the Jedi Code. It wasnt allowed. So they fell in love, had a kid together in secrecy..and then i think his father just had to leave cuz he had no choice. And they dont really say much a bout him after that.
Hope this helps. :)

Midi-chlorians ;D Naw, they wanted to imply it was a virgin birth, then later changed there minds and made it seem like Darth Plagueis manipulated his creation.
