sunderland will go up in the play offs, they will be a premiership side for two years and be a mid table side with an influx of the tele money coming in they will buy wisely and Keane will then team up with ferguson once again as his number 2 this time. then when the time comes Roy will have the reins to the biggest club in the world - but he fails miserably and cant stand the comparisons with Sir Alex, he leaves the club after 2 years, up steps Paul Jewell ,Martin O neill, Jose Mouriniho???

I honest to God believe that Roy Keane is the only person capable of stepping into Fergies Godzilla sized shoes. Now I know Im being biased but I really can't see anyone else doing it.Keane learned everyhtng he knows about management from Fergie and is using those methods at Sunderland.Im not trying to make Keane out to be Gods gift to management but he did turn probably the least managable club in the championship into winners this season so credit where credits due.I do,however, think he is at least 5 years off being ready to take the reigns at the Theatre of Dreams.
Martin O'Neill wouldn't be a bad choice either. He has fire, passion, understanding of the game and the ability to get the best out of his players.

Obviously it wont be easy replacing the greatest manager in the modern era..... I think he'll stay 2/3 more years, he has built a strong, young squad that will put any new manager in a good position. Scholes and Neville would possibly retire with him.
If Mark Hughes can keep up the good work in Europe & Premiership for the next couple of years he would get my vote for next manger.

When he decides to retire, i hope they can find a suitable replacement. Currently the only manager i think is up to the challenge is Jose Mourinho, saying that i would actually prefer a British manager. I dont want my team turning French or Spanish like Arsenal and Liverpool.

Sure Fergie's the big man, but Man Utd should be confident enough to carry on without his lead...boasting such an array of new talent and classic oldies, they'll make it through...
As for a new coach, I think it's best to promote from within, because it takes one to know a team inside out...however, an external influence is essential in bringing in a fresh new strategy...

SAF has not spoken of retirement lately, he will do whats best for the club anyway.
There's many candidates from Martin O'Neil to Roy Keane but for right now I'd say no one is the odds on favorite. Were just have to wait and see, maybe Macca is available from his England journey by then.

It will be a dark day when Fergie finally walks from Old Trafford and I hope it's not soon as I can't think of anyone at the moment who can fill his boots

very hard and i know it will happen soon. as a man u fan I'm worried. i think maybe they should try a young manager but make sure his style of coaching is the same as fergie's.

i reckon when he leaves the club will go through a revolution, like liverpool did with rafa. i think they'll get either otmar hitzfelt, frank rikkard, marcello lippi or a united legend like mark hughes.
i'd like to see frank rikkard

I don`t support Man Utd. But they will survive, it`s all about the club not one man. Man Utd have done it in the past and they`ll do it again :-)
