How can I calculate number of seconds from minutes (mm.mm)?

Question

Excel will only give me duration time in minutes, but I would like to be able to write a formula to calculate seconds from both mm:ss and mm.mm.

1) Select the data you would like calculate.
2) Click on Format on the standard toolbar.
3) Select Format Cells.
4) Select Custom for the category.
5) Type in mm:ss for the type.
6) Click OK .

For seconds from minutes....just multiply the number of minutes by 60,

Hence 1 min x 60 = 60 seconds
2 min x 60 = 120 seconds
and so on.
