if they are un geared two stroke bikes that look like tiny superbikes, they are mini motos.
if they are weird small bikes, usually with a couple of gears, and road legal (sometimes), they are monkey bikes.
mopeds have a different frame and you step through, rather than over then, to sit on them.
if its kids effing about , they are probably mino motos, monkey bikes are becoming more uncommon

Mini motos! Partially annoying when used in the proper area, very annoying when they go flying past my house at midnight, and VERY funny when the dumbasses fall off them!!

mini-motos are scaled down racing bikes.
Go-peds are like kids scooters fitted with a petrol engine too.

We used to call the bicycles with motors on them "mopeds".
