Are there any possible ways to locate a mobile phone that was stolen even without its original simcard? Please help! I'm from the Philippines.

IMEI is the electronic serial number which is embedded into each phone. Every phone has one assigned to it and usually, unless you are very tech savy and have certain software, cannot be changed. If the phone is legit and is owned by you it can be reported lost or stolen. The carried to which it is assigned will then black flags this phones IMEI. This phone will not be able to be registered on that network any longer however it can still be used with another sim card with limitations (sms may not work correctly) from a working account or as a prepaid. It can also be unlocked and used on other carriers using the same technology (gsm or iden). Locating the phone would require the phone to be active, have a gps function active and assistance from the carrier and local authorities. I suggest reporting it stolen to your carrier. This will make it difficult for anyone to register it or even have it repaired under warranty if needed.

If you report it to your carrier or service operator network, you will find that they can enter the IMEI code for you and disable your phone. However there is no way to track it unless you were to leave the phone active and track it down through the outgoing calls it made but you would never be able to find the exact position, just the area that its within
