The QWERTY keyboard was designed to actually slow typists down in the days of mechanical typewriters. When typists went too quickly, the letter keys would actually end up getting stuck together when typists went too fast, so the QWERTY keyboard was developed to slow them down and lessen the probability of this happening.

I agree with j3nny23lf- The QWERTY layout was designed to slow typists down. Today, we can type as fast as we like on a computer keyboard, but in the days of mechanical typewriters, if you typed too fast, the arms that struck the paper would jam together. The QWERTY layout is designed to slow down the typing by placing more frequently used letters in awkward places where weaker fingers would hit them.
The layout has been maintained on computer keyboards, despite the fact that there are no mechanical levers to get entangled. Well, there's still the DVORAK keyboard, which allows a faster typing speed.
Hope that answers your question.

The later solutions are spectacular. on the previous mechanical typewriters the letters that throughout lots of instances come mutually in writing have been located removed from one yet another. in any different case the metallic palms that hit the paper might tangle up and jam. . T and H , C and H ;P and H; W and H; A and Y; A and that i; A and R...all commomn combinations are properly separated

They are arranged so that the letters most commonly used in the English language are placed where it is easier for the fingers to reach. That is why the left pinky finger is straight above the letter "a" but you have to make an awkward movement to reach the q above and the z below.

Don't change the order please. I'm used to type like this only.
See Wikipedia documentation for keyboard layout - QWERTY.
