Muslims are still living in India , because they really love India .
They are an 'INDIAN' before any Muslim or Hindu .
Only Muslim leeg wanted the Pakistan . About western culture ....
See , India is too following it , ( i think more than Pak ) any one should not mind it , bcoz we all r changing , but Pakistan was made to 'save and protect' Muslims . so why they r now following it ?
Go 4 Islam , na. So Pakistan was only made to fulfill some political or financial dreams ( financial , b'coz Mr. Gandhi and all The congress party gave 40 CRORE RS. to make it )
Pak is only achieving the popularity of Islam and cruel terrorisms .

Pakistan was achieved for Jinnah's dream muslim country , not necessarily a purely Islamic country as per Islamic teachings and idealogies. Jinnah died 13 months after formation of Pakistan. Others were spineless leaders there. All key leaders even in the beginning were westernised. At the time of partition of India in 1947 it was not the partition policy of compulsion for muslims in India to migrate to Pakistan and hindus of Pakistan to migrate to India. India Office Library London publishsd a decade ago all secret papers in 14 big volumes the british hidden policies and steps taken by them in 1947. It is clear that Jinnah used the idea of the partition of India as a bargaining chip and he himself was neither sure not very serious but we provided him the opportunity. We should not be the hostages of the past. Past is as dead as history. In this world of change like chamelion nobody is neither friend nor foe permanently. Even then make good friends everywhere in every community without any prejudice and bias. Life will be easier. Artificial boundaries are not God made. They are man made , always subject to change. One can best understands onself only , not others.

There could be many reasons but I am impressed by a theory made out by my history teacher who was a level headed and highly learned man (with Double PG degrees in those days), which says, it was more a personality clash...

Did we not see in our own days.. (for an example) how Mrs Indira Gandhi of the great Nehru family clashed with the popular seniors and Freedom Fighters like Kamaraj in Congress and split the great party known for its patriotism and popularity among the people?

Jinnah was a towering personality with oratorial skills and mass support among the people, but he could not outgrow Gandhiji who commanded greater veneration among people with his great sympathy for the poor, simple morals in public life etc..

This had shattered the ambitions of Jinnah who had thought that his eminence was not recognised due to his muslim mask... and he desired to have a separate country for muslims... and the British had also played the sinister role to foment religious animosity among the Indians to weaken the Freedom struggle... But all muslims did not share the point and many decided to stay back..

All these culminated in the Partition.. But then British were a foreign country and had their own interests to reach... what about the dissidents in the Free India dividing people in the name of religions and castes, to achieve selfish advantages?

It is lot better to ruminate on the present and set things right rather than brood over a past that is gone into history... with its great lessons for us to imbibe... Are we taking the lessons...?

So that we cannot form the best Cricket team in the world... LOL.

Anyways that was not a joke, had the partition not taken place the Republic of India would have been more resourceful, economically progressed a lot more, more powerful nation. The partition just divided a geographically stratigical location into two.

Why don't we ever consider about deleting the partitions?

Just a suggestion...

:-)

It is a matter of choice not compulsion
India was partitioned at the insistence of Jinnah and the Moslem League.

Not just Pakistan, but also East Pakistan;now Bangla Desh

However, who lived where was a matter of choice, not force

The partition was a disaster and hundreds of thousands died and/or lost everything as populations surged west and east towards seperation and, inevitably, clashed on roads and trains
It was horrific

In India Muslims weren't given rights thats why India was partitioned to get Muslims their rightful rights but sadly today the picture is totally different.
