Try "mp3 cutter joiner 2" its a trial ware,but i have the key for it.It is a user friendly software.so if u download or get that software just mail me and ill send the key for free.

There is a software called Audacity. You can download it from:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
You can convert the audio as well as do some basic level audio editing also.... And the best thing is it is free!

I use a conversion software called "MediaCoder" and it does both video and audio. I have not and do not use anything else. Website address for it is http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/, and it is free.
