Do I have the right to travel where I want without big brother watching me?

Yes. Arguably the road pricing breaches our rights of privacy under Article 8 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms which which was incorporated into UK law by the Human Rights Act.

However, the Convention is actually fairly toothless, and governments can typically do just about anything they want provided they don't summarily execute people. So, I guess we are all just screwed.

Its only a breach of the government cant make money out of it ... if the government can make money out of it, they'll do what they like.
Would certainly make for an interesting Court Case if someone was to take the powers that be to court to protest at an infringement of privacy. That particular precident would be the hinge for many things in this daft country of ours.

Human rights have nothing to do with man's laws, or with money.

You have the God given right to travel where you want without big brother watching you, or charging you tolls!!!

They probably will do what they want, and they will probably force you to comply, but that does not make it right!!!

Many think you do but in truth you do not. The state can and often do charge for the use of roads. In many cases it is to pay for theconstruction of the road and maintainence. Some times it is to help releive the congestion caused by too many using the road.

Freedom does ot mean you can do as you please any time you please. Freedom has its price just like everything else.

No it is not a given right.

no, at least not initually as the information would be safe guarded, however it would probably just a matter of time before they break your human rights, personally i believe the more worrying concern is identity cards as in the future they may be used to track where you are all the time.
