Typically I don't get a fortune but a statement of the obvious... something like "You full now but you will be hungry in an hour." I did get one once that was relevant to what was going on in my life. My husband and I had a stupid fight and I was still mad about it. My cookie said, "You must apologize because you are wrong."
Sometimes the cookie knows all.

My sister worked for the company that makes most of those darn things and her job was to put the little sayings in the cookie but now machines do that.

Then people would make their own and stick them in the cookie. things like gee it sure was stuffy in there. another might be it sure was a long time before you found me.

They are just for fun and have nothing to do with telling fortunes.

This does not answer your question but I thought you might like to know. Perhaps you already do.

One told me I was going to win the Miss America contest. That was the most memorable one. My gal laughed about that and called me "MeiKuo Shaoje (Miss America)" for months. Her friends and relatives did not know what she meant.
