I am only three days late so maybe I am just not producing enough hormone yet but at what point do I give up? I would like to hear from any health proffesionals out there who could tell me how long from conception does the egg implant and if it takes a while would that mean that hcg levels could be still low for the first few days. I should mention that on the four occasions that I have been pregnant I have always done home tests and only ever had faint lines. One of the tests I have done in the last few days had a faint second line but it was after the ten minutes they tell you to wait. I would appreciate peoples opinions on whether I should carry on with the tests for a few more days and also story's from anyone who has had a number of negative results for the first few days after a missed peiod and then finally a positive. Thanks

I did a few home tests & had a test done at the GP's but all came back negative, I was given a scan to find the problem & I was 14 weeks pregnant!
This was over 8 yrs ago so I imagine the tests are a bit more accurate now, & I do have a hormone embalance, which was suggested for the "false" reading!
Leave it a few days & do another test
Good Luck to you, I hope you get the result you're looking for.
Please let us know how it goes!

i had a lot of positive tests, and it actually turned out negative, but with my baby i tested one day after my missed period and it was positive, so i went to planned parenthood and got a professional pee test done and they confirmed it was positive and that i was 5 weeks along. you can look up and see if a planned parenthood is in your community (www.plannedparenthood.com). Also, to get the most accurate readings try taking the test with the first pee you take in the morning after waking up- the hormones are at the highest level at that time and that is pretty much a sure thing on the result. the tests results cannot be taken as valid after 10 minutes, and to get a really clear result you can try the E.P.T. digital tests that read out pregnant or not pregnant. then you don't have to worry about lines and all that. I would try it tomorrow morning only and maybe the next day if you really want to, but if it's neg. tomorrow it probably just is altogether. Good Luck and i hope it comes back positive if you are trying to get pregnant!! (:

it is different foe everyone. Some may show a positive result straight away and some take longer. Im not a proffesional but i can sat that you may have to wait at least a week for a positive result. See what happens and test again after a few day's. I alway's say to do 3 tests to get the most reliable result.

Good luck.

hi there i personally had 5 negative tests i was 2 weeks late when finally a first response early test showed my pregnancy and it was very faint i had to get 6 people to look at it for me as i thought it was the evaporation line unfortunatly for us the reason it didnt show for so long is a low hcg and we found out 1 week later it was ectopic.i no work in a gyn unitand can say if you are haveing a normal healthy pregnancy it should be detectable on all good brand pregnancy tests by the first day of your missed period it is very rare cases like mine and it doesent show and its normally caused through a low hcg which some woman have for the first few weeks in many cases it results in loss of the pregnancy but it is also very possible your dates arnt as you thought and your still testing a little too early because it is a common occurance to be pregnant and have a negative test but as you have used so many id say either you arnt pregnant or you have low hcg and should visit your docter tell her your late and tests are negative they run a blood count to make sure you arnt pregnant and then look at why your period is late,id definatly advise going to your gp.I can also answer that implantation occurs 7-10 days after conception.

usually the only reason for this is testing at the wrong time, if youre two weeks late however the hormone levels will be noticeable at anytime during the day and therefore if its negative especially in a morning then its probably correct. However if youre still hopful like i am then get a new brand and try that, if that still doesn't come back positive and youre pretty sure yore preg go see the DR. hope this helps ;)

If you really think that you are pregnant then you should keep testing every few days. It's kind of early to be talking about 'giving up' when you are only 3 days late.
If you have had positive results in the past then you are unlikely to be one of the few women who pregnancy tests don't work for.

Yes, I took a pregnancy test at my doctor office and it was negative. About 4 weeks later, I started have pains in my stomach and I was using the restroom a lot, I thought it was a UTI, but I was 9 weeks pregnant. It may be too early to tell, relax and retest in about two weeks. You period could be late or missed because of stress.

i had around 5/6 negative tests before finaly the test said possitive , and at this point i was around 9/10 weeks pregnant.
prob 3 days late is far too early, maybe you should make an app with your doctor , although they will prb tell you to wait another week then go back for a test.
