Maybe it is a common human complaint, I dont know. I am not overtly unhappy (as such) my life is good - you know loving family not starving and roof over my head. But I constantly struggle with the drudge and am always waiting for something to happen - good or bad. I am constantly fighting an apathy about life when I should be embracing it and seeing the joy in the little things - and most of the time I fail. Ive done counselling and anti depressants and neither seemed to take away this existensial crisis I seem to go through most of the time. Any suggestions?

Hello,

(ANS) I'm sending you a BIG HUGG!! because what you describe is how I feel myself. I think when you feel this way its extremely hard for other people to fully understand it, to comprehend the pain this state of being causes because there's nothing visable on the outside.

**I think there are lots of people like us, who do feel exactly like this.

**I cannot pretend that I have any fixes or clever answers but I do think its very important NOT to run away from how this feels. I think the feelings & emotions are very important as a way through these experiences.

**On one level I think this kind of exsistential crisis touches more into a spiritual place (space) & I think thats important too. Why? because in the context of spirituality people ask big questions like what is life for? why am I here and so on.

**All I can tell you is I've had many years of feeling this way, but I do accept perhaps its just me. Perhaps its just the way my psychie is wired being a double pisces. I dont know. (I have both the sun & moon in pisces in my chart).

**Happiness isnt a given, you cannot force someone to be happy, you cannot turn happiness on or off in my opinion. Happiness is a state of being that occurrs when the conditions allow for it (usually its the absence of anxiety or fear's and comes with a sense clamness, peacefulness, a feeling of being centred inside oneself).

**I feel the answers to these very deep very profund questions cannot be answered directly. You can only glimps bits of the answers or trueth out of the corner of your eye. Or another example would be you cannot look at sun spots directly or you would go blind. But pass the sunlight through a telescope & project that onto a screen and then you see the sun spots.

Warmest Wishes to you!! IR

Well, reckon you're not alone in this! Often I think being a thoughful person is something of a hindrence in life - so first suggestion, don't think about things so much and go with the flow a bit more.

Perhaps give yourself an aim so that you've got a reason to get up in the morning, for example volunteering, or campaigning to make your locality better, be a eco-warrier even! Making the world a better place gives a good sense of well-being!! Good luck :-)

Firstly, I would stongly suggest you drop the counselling and anti depressants. the answer ultimately has to lay in your own hands,

You say that you have a lot of posatives in life - but there is something missing. What is that? You need to find out, and there is a technique.

Take a piece of paper, and divide it in to 4 boxes.

In the top left hand box, write down all the things you like about your life NOW.

Bottom left hand box, all the things you don't like NOW.

Top right hand box, where you want to be in, say, 5 years time, and how you could get there.

Bottom right hand box, what you are going to do to remove or minimise the things you don't like.

It focuses the mind.

Without doubt, this is one of the most challenging, and yet one of the most fundamental, questions the mind can consider. People throughout history have pondered the purpose of life. Philosophers spin theories. Poets write songs. Young people drop out of society to "find out what it's all about." Older people may remain within the "establishment," but they still wonder. Why do people appreciate beauty in art, music, and poetry? Do animals create new paintings, sculptures, symphonies, and books of poetry that they and other animals can enjoy? All people need some material goods, but is this the highest goal of life
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Counselling and anti depressants will not take away the drudgery of doing tedious or unpleasant things. The key to happyness is to enjoy the good things when they come along. If they aren't coming along often enough then do something about it. Plan activities you know you will enjoy, go out with your friends, go shopping, go to a movie, take up a sport.

Maybe you are trying too hard? We all need to take a little time for ourselves, make sure you always put aside some time that is just for you. I don't know what things you like best but make sure you have some of what you like, you will feel better about other things if you do.

search for the meaning of life, without it you have no purpose but to only fullfill your desires and that is impossible so you will always feel down at one time or another. No matter what you have you will allways want more. The truth about the purpose of life is to worship god. i will leave it for to find out why and how, good luck

find and commit to something that is greater than your self

you can put up with anything if youre living with purpose.

it doesnt matter what the purpose is as long as you are pursuing it. each minor success on the way just adds to the excitement.

Because life is just something you do, like putting in your time. Don't worry we are only going to be here for a little while, then we move on to bigger and better things.

Try this; from the Holy Bible.

John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Jesus promises to give us life in its fullness.
