If we did not have a Moon there would be no lunar tides. (We would still have tides caused by the sun, but these would only be about 1/3 as great as the current tides.) There would also be no total solar eclipses which I think would be a shame. We might get hit more often by asteroids, as the Moon probably takes some that would otherwise hit us, so that might have meant that life couldn't have developed so well (that's a bit speculative). There would be a lot less mythology and folk tales as the Moon has played an important part in alot of cultures The Earth's rotation is being slowed through tidal interactions with the Moon. If the Moon had never existed the Earth would be spinning much faster. In fact, our day would probably only be about 6 hours long! The fast rotation rate would lead to faster winds and stronger storms. The fast rotation speed would also have implications for plant photosynthesis, and animal hunting and sleeping cycles.

the moon has a big effect on the earth, it is responsible for the tides so with no moon there would be no tides, it is used by many nocturnal animals to help them see and it is also thought many animals use the moons gravitation to help them migrate, or determine the best time to mate. so no moon would have a massive effect on a lot of wildlife. The moon also slows down the speed of rotation of the earth very slightly.

Night would always be very dark, as the sun would not reflect light off the moon.
There would nobody to smile at when there was an eclipse of the moon.

Well, if you mean what would have happened if the moon hadn't been there at the beginning...I would say we would be a lot different because stall water wouldn't have allowed life to develop the same way. If on the other hand you mean what if it blow up...well, let's say that Asterisk and Obelisk wouldn't be the only one scared of the sky falling down on their head.

As the moon's gravitational pull has an effect on ours, there would be no tides. Some would also argue that we women would have more stable months!

Let's see-no tides, no dogs baying at the moon, and no werewolves....Also, many of my favorite songs such as MOON RIVER by Andy Williams and BAD MOON RISING by CCR would have never been written.

Hmmmm...guess it would pitch dark without the moon to reflect abit of the night light to earth...however, it would also be hard for our islamic brothers and sisters to determine alot of things as they depend on the moon alot

eventually many living things will die coz
No tides, no movement of specific ocean creatures, no mating for certaing crabs on a full moon, etc so generally the eco system is affected.
Good thing is there wont be any warewolves

the earth would wobble , could even go up side down , tides would be effected with only the wind driving them, seasons would vanish , and our orbit around the sun would be affected also
