Serious answers only please. I was injured and as a result it has taken me awhile to accept this, continued to attempt to work making my health worse. Finally accepting the fact I've no choice but to go on disability, I'm not really able to afford to live in the apartment I rent. I've got some money put back and can put in w my monthly benefits to get by or I can try to break my lease and move into a more affordable apartment but it would not be in as nice of a neighborhood. Now I do know a lot of people in a neighborhood I could afford, but what about breaking my lease? If I move now I can have some money to spend as well as put away for a rainy day, or I can stay where I'm at and just get by. It's been difficult enough as it is just accepting the fact I can't do what I used to.

Make it easier on yourself and move to somewhere you can comfortably afford.

Some landlords will let you sublet the apartment to some one else, you need to talk with him/her to see if they will allow it.

My brother bought a condo and he had to get out of the lease with his landlord, he still had like 7 months left on the lease. He spoke with the landlord and explained his situation and the landlord let him sublet the place to some one else. He had to clean the place first in order to do it. The only problem with that is if they decide that they don't want to stay they don't have to. Then it's up to you to pay the rent again until it is subletted again. In my brother's situation the lady stayed through out the remainder of the lease. Another thing is if you need to move, go to your landlord and explain your situation you may get lucky and they may let you out of it. Go and speak with your landlord, bring some thing with you to show that your on disability, he/she may have a heart and let you out of your lease. You never know until you try.

When you went to Social Security did they ask you about the SSI as well, since if you don't own a home or any property you may be able to qualify for SSI as well as Social Security. I know Social Security is a kind of funny program, so that you can not do certain things, but you can do others. Like they will let you work part time if you can and want to, but you can not make over a certain amount a year.

You may want to contact them and ask if there are any other programs that can qualify for that will help you, they should be able to tell you what else you can do to help your situation. It would be better for you to speak directly with them so that you won't have any sort of a conflict later.

I wish you the best with your situation, things will get better for you. Keep your faith and stay strong, look at this as just another stepping stone on the road of lifes journey. You mastered your job and you were good at it now it's time to take care of your self, don't be so hard on your self. Every thing will work out for you.

God Bless you, I will keep you in my prayers that things will get better.

I dont know where you live but I have a neighbor that was going through that and she went down to the local Housing Authority and was given vouchers for her rent. I dont know what all you have to do to qualify but it saved her savings, her having to move somewhere else and It saved us from having to change neighbors as well. What she recieved a month bless her heart I have no clue how she lives. God Bless and Something will happen for you.

I have broken leases before. It has never been a big deal. Just expect to lose any deposits. Read your lease to see what the consequences are for breaking the lease. Do what is best for YOU.

Please put all the probabilities next to you and try to choose the best one , like what you can support and what you can`t , but somewhere you need to make some sacrifices .
