hi here's my experience of some of the shops I'm size 14 now but have been 16 and 18 as well (well still a 16 sometimes depending ware i shop lol )
Dorothy Perkins is always a good one for me
Evans is rubbish and to old fashioned (although the seventeen range is good
new look is good although i never seem to buy anything from them!!!
primark is good for basics like tops and pj's (although they can be too small sometimes!)
next is good, for trousers and smart stuff
matalan is rubbish and the stuff never fits! (grate for men though!)
personally i love eBay as i can type in the size and the item i want and some lovely things come up!
principles are nice but prob a bit tight for a 16 (as they go up to a 16.
m & s are good but only the per una range (the jeans are lovely)
monsoon is supposed to be good for dresses (although ive never been into the shop ive seen some lovely things on ebay)

Lots of the high street fashion stores do 'larger' ranges now, including Dorothy Perkins, M&S, Debenhams, Topshop, New Look but I think the main shop would be Evans (you could take a look at websites...) Monsoon is a lovely shop - does wonderful clothes and I think goes up to a size 20 (and sometimes you can get away with a size smaller in there and that's a great boost!!) Happy shopping!

I know what you mean, some shops clothes just don't look flattering on you. I normally go to Evans or Dorothy Perkins sometimes even Debenhams as they have several designers in there. Shops like Jane Norman and pilot, their clothes come up too small and its frustrating when a size 14 in other shops fit perfectly well. Happy hunting

Evans is quite good and BHS sometimes have a very nice selection and their sizes are quite generous.
