If the doctor cannot help get him to the dentist, sounds crazy i know but they can tell allot from a persons tongue.
I had a problem with my tongue, which was found by the dentist and arranged for me to have a biopsy done at the dental hospital.
Thankfully everything was ok.

I had that same problem. They went away after a month of my girlfriend massaging my tung with her thumb and forefinger. I would just stick out my tung and she would pinch it between her two fingers and rub them back and forth, for about 30 min. Keep monitoring the lumps with a trained health care professional.
