iran would not put the oil price up they would turn the taps of. and since they have made a pact with venezuela they would to and of course they would sink oil tankers throgh the persian gulf and thats only for starters other countries would go on trading with them just as they did with north vietnam during that war and to attack them without any hope of ocupying iran is not a good idea

OK, first, assuming that their thousand of missiles and their hundreds of launch sites don't get completely destroyed in the initial air strike, then there will be a counterstrike. I am not sure of their current accuracy, but targets will be Israel, the Green Zone in Bagdhad, and both carrier groups will be targeted by their anti shipping missiles. They can turn off the oil taps, mine the Suez canal and the rest of the gulf to starve the world of Persian oil.
2 years ago, Iran started arming and training a "Home guard", so every single able bodied citizen should be in the Iran Resistance, and look what the Iraqi Resistance, - without much preparation - is able to do.

Iraq fought a war with iran to a standoff for several years. The regular Iraqi army did not last a month against the USA. I give Iran's army two months. Just because Iran is bigger and our troops would farther to drive.
Any boycot of oil exports would hurt Venezuela much more than the USA. It is their only real source of income. Same with much of the middle east. Chavez would not last a year without throwing around his petrodollars to bribe his citizens.
On the world oil market since the US is richer than most nations we will be able to buy oil.
That said, we are not seriously planning a war with Iran.

Iran would suffer worse economically than America if they stopped selling their oil to America, they depend on the income they recieve from the American oil purchase. If we attack Iran on the grounds of plutoniom enrichment (if of course it became a global problem) countries would soon take sides and eventially it would excelate to another world war. Yet once the war would end the world might be much more peaceful.

hey CHIGGA, do u think that USA has any respectability to other country except UK? even Israel? Israel r using USA for their own purpose.
if USA attack Iran ( i think today or tomorrow must be) then Israel can start aggression to other neighbours and occupying more lands. beside those the UNO will face the same problem which the league of nations had faced.

Sweet Jesus, the country is up to its *** in alligators NOW, what with Afghanistan and Iraq, why the Sam Hell would you want to go and bury yourselves completely by attacking Iran? Isn't being involved in two unwinnable wars enough?

there won't be an attack on Iran...
There is no reason...being suspected of uranium enrichment or plutonium production is not enough - it would have to be something really serious like a nuclear attack before any country would do that.
