On a calculator

2007-02-21 20:31:11 · answer #1 · answered by Big Boss 2 · 0 0

0 divided by any non-zero number is 0. If you want proof, here you go: 0 / (-7) = x implies that 0 = -7x, so x = 0. I don't know what calculator would even tell you otherwise.

Dividing a number BY zero is undefined. Dviding 0 by 0 is "indetermined". But none of that is what's going on here.

Where are you getting all of these whacky questions from? Who told you 0 / -7 = -7?

Zero divided by anything is zero.

So, 0 divided by -7 is not -7.

If you are trying to do it on a regular calculator and are hitting the minus sign before 7 the calculator only figures out 0-7= -7

You need to do it on a more advanced calculator. Your minus sign cancels the divide operation.

zero divided by negative seven or for that case any number tends to infinity and thus is an undefined form of the function.
