That would be up to the girl. Probably she would need to take at least one semester off. Also, around here, they have night school. That could also be an option if they offer something like that. Normally an adult female would take 6- 12 weeks for maternity leave.

you are allowed 6 weeks and you can talk to your school counselor if you have problems that require you to take longer. most schools are supportive of you and encourage your return to school and will work with you as much as they can to get you back in so you can graduate. (trust me, it's better to graduate! even though you are a young mother, you can proudly say "yes i did graduate" to those stupid people who critize.) if you need less, you can take less as well. just do extra studies and ask if you can do home studies/packets for some classes and you can do 1/2 days at school or something. good luck and i hope you finish!

Nowadays girls go on "independent study" rather than actually leave school. On independent stuyd they get their assignments from their insturctors and they do the assignments at home, and have them returned to their instructors.

There is no set time for a girl to take maternity leave from school. Usually, women take 3 months of maternity leave from work. The reason for maternity leave is to give the mother time to bond with her baby and make arrangements for her baby to be taken care of when she goes back to work.
Take as long as you need, but please complete your education, don't let your baby end your dreams.

It's still 6 weeks unless they had complications or a c-section.

6 weeks is customary unless you have a c-section and need more time to heal.
