You made him feel embarrased. lol, thats cute. Maybe next time think of a different approach. Like the way you like his smell and not associate it to anything.

Maybe because shrimp are so small.
You should have said he smelled like prawns, they are bigger.

seriously ... ask him why it bothered him ... if he don't want to talk about it ... give him time to cool off and tell him you are sorry for hurting his feelings. Ask him why so that you will not do it again. If he loves you then he will talk to you. It may be hard for him to talk to you about it but he will eventually
