Hi all,

Well, professionally I am a s/w programmer, however I hav always found the need to get into creatives for a long time to me. Ever since I can remmember my name, I love drawing and sketching ( basically human figures, still life etc). I also have a creative bend for illustration concepts and ideas.
I am confused as to which course I could enroll my self into to satisfy my creative needs, as well as make a career out of it.
Basically would love to sketch and draw for .. say stories ,etc...

Please do advice...!!!

If things are the same in India as they are in the U.S., you will have to take drawing before you can take illustration. The drawing classes are usually a beginning and the illustration is more advanced. There is no reason why you can't enjoy both! By the way, in English, we say you are at a "bend" in the road, (a corner), but if we are discussing a preference, we spell it bent. They sound the same when you are talking, but they are different in use.

If there are any technical schools in your area of the world, you might look into the possibility of taking a commercial art course. I graduated from both, a tech school that had comm.art and from a college where I had fine arts, design,,art history, drawing, sculpting, painting, color theory, advertising and marketing along with the required academics. I rec'd a degree in mrkt'g and advtg. as well as a degree in design. These courses have served me very well over the years and had given me the working knowledge to create almost anything in any medium(illustration included).

i've got in simple terms started a demonstration direction at uni and so far i think of the tutors have respected that all of us have diverse drawing varieties, they do motivate you to entice diverse methods yet i think of that could take place on any paintings direction. as long as your delighted including your artwork then this is all that concerns!
