I assume Adrian Peterson will go first. My needs at WR and RB are about equal. The WR crop is talented this year and if I take a RB on the first round I should be able to get a decent WR on the second round. But if I take a WR on the first round the chance of getting a good RB on the 2nd round is slim. Calvin Johnson is a great talent, but I also think I should grab a RB when I can because who knows when I will have another good opportunity.

I think its like gambling... a crapshoot..because it all depends on who drafts them.. and even if Calvin is drafted in the top 3.. a decent team might trade for him.. overall.. running backs are more valuable than receivers.. but Calvin is a proven commodity.. he is the best receiver to come out of college since Larry Fitzgerald. M-Lynch is not that class of player. Calvin is in the class of L.Fitzgerald and Torry Holt.. and both produced immediately. However, receivers generally develop slower than running backs. So you see what i mean, its not an easy decision. Bottomline, special talent is rare.. take it while you can.

Calvin Johnson is a great player - make no mistake, he's a can't miss. However, he'll be selected probably too high for his own good. I see him going to a particularly awful team in the top 3, so his production won't be anything special. (See Braylon Edwards, GREAT reciever out of Michigan, now on the roster of the miserable Cleveland Browns) Marshawn was an amazing player at Cal, and despite his purported injury problems, I think he'll end up a better all-around player than Peterson; with most mock's seeing him with the Packers or some other mid-level team, take him. He's gonna be a force.

LOL, i was going to say Adrian Peterson when I saw the title. I would take Calvin Johnson. He's going to blow up in the NFL. Marshawn Lynch is not that great, and if you're not getting AD, all the rest of the RBs are about the same.

In the past few years it has been shown that a good WR can have a GREAT rookie season. I'd take Johnson in a heartbeat!

I always go by the rule that you only take rookies when there is no one else that you want or need available. You just never know about them being able to make the transition. That being said in fantasy ball you win with running backs.
