Some people are very nice to others...but what they do are never appreciated and instead of "the others" being nice back to them, they stepped on them?

There is difference between being nice and bending over backwards, not having a backbone. You want to be kind but not allow her to compromise who you are and what you believe in. You should never be taken advantage of but give and do from your heart. If a girl is real she'll appreciate and reciprocate.

Well...I would say it's REQUIRED (being nice, that is). It seems that you are worried about being taken advantage of. If you are fearful of this, you have to ask yourself about the person you are dating.
Does she seem to be a genuine person...or is she only out for her own personal gain? Does she care for you and is she interested in what you do and have to say? Is she willing to give as opposed to taking all of the time?
If she doesn't pass these test questions, then yes, she will probably step all over you if you let her.
My advice--Be nice to your girlfriend...that's a general way to keep one, but don't be a sucker.

Man be nice to your girl... if she climbs over your head.. well there are many positions in Kama Sutra that involve that move. however I dont think you are refering to any of them.... if she doesn't appreciate being treated with respect... move on darling.. find someone who does.

you should be who you are and be sincere. You should not be nice if you are just looking for her to be nice back. You should be nice because you want to be nice to her. If she loves you then she will be nice to you and will not step all over you.

Dude everyone deserves respect and if she ain't showing the same then you know what to do.... end it with her why waste your time when theres another chick out there who will show the same courtesy that u give her right back to you...
