Good Question.
Peace loving nations need not have all Peace Loving Communities or Citizens.or a Peaceful Neighbourhood.I think the greatest threat to India since historical times has been from the brabaric invaders of the "North West" (Geograpical Regions that forms part of Modern Day Afghanistan its neighbouring tribal parts of the Subcontinent).
To pinpoint the epicentre,It is Kandahar or Gandharam-The curse on India.
In historical times as in Mahabharata, for instance the Destructive thinking of Shakuni , Prince of Gandharam paved way for Kurukshethra.Later the Afghan plunderers(another curse on India-)too had strongholds there. In modern day, the Taliban and its destructive elements which are the prime forces and root causes of terror in India and in our provinces like Kashmir too ruled from there. The hijacking by terrorists of Indias National Airliner and the aftermath was yet another of the "Kandhahar Episode".
The Spirits of Gandharam haunts the Peace in the Subcontinent.
Only when peace prevails there can peace prevail in the whole of Indian Subcontinent-both in India and Pakistan.
If you got confused and still dont bliv...go check out related books and articles.
Pray to God for Peace in Kandahar (Gandharam).

Check your history. Muslims and Hindus used to kill each other all the time. There is still some hard feelings felt by a few people.
Now the terrorist know this and will try to make it worse. They throw a few bombs here and there and make it look like each side is trying to start a fight. After a while, the old feelings will be back and there will be war.
In war, there needs to be leaders. So who else should come up and say follow me but some Cleric saying "Jihad". This gives Al-Queda ( spelling ) more power and more followers.
By starting a holy war in India, Al-Queda ( sp ) can gain money, power, and troops. There is a lot to be exploited in India. Remember this and don't let hate spread and you can win the war against the terrorist.

Terrorists always attack the helpless people.Their main weapon is SHOCK
They disturb the balance of peace in a place. It is with this tactic that they get their DEMANDS met.
They create absolute FEAR IN THE MINDS of the public.

The history of India shows that India was raided by invaders who ransacked the temples like SomNath . From thousands of years India has been the target of terrorists.
The terrorists want to disturb the peace so that there will be no political stability, and cannot develop.

India is facing it since civilisation started (See the history). The form of attack may be different.
But the country had handled it successfully in the past, it is handling it in present and will handle it in future also.

It is a proven fact that nothing will change its characture of peace-loving nature.

Same old problem. Religion. Maybe with a bit of tribalism thrown in. Not that they are the cause but the fact is that terrorists know how to manipulate these two things for their own ends.

Terrorism doesn't care what kind of nation it attacks, as long as it attracts the media attention and kills people.
