You could set up an Ebay store to start off as it is very simple to do & people feel far more comfortable buying through Ebay as they know & trust the name. If you really want your own site though, www.1and1.co.uk have some excellent website packages to suit all budgets. You build the site yourself using help wizards & can link it up to Paypal so you can take credit card payments online, it is all fairly easy - I built my website without having had any previous knowledge of web designing. I have a basic Ebay store & my own website. Out of the two the Ebay store is far more successful, but when I post the item they have purchased I pop a business card in with my other website address which has a lot more products listed than the Ebay store. E-commerce is all about building trust with your customers. I hope this helps & good luck. Don't let anyone put you off trying.

You should either get a web designer to design a professional website for you, or learn how to do that yourself. If you are planning on working online for a long time, I really recommend taking the time to learn everything yourself. This would cut your expenses dramatically. You should start off by finding a good web hosting provider, design your website and upload it online, and start your marketing efforts. Don't expect buyers to land at your websites easily, they won't. You should plan your marketing and advertising efforts to get the best ROI. Time consuming? Yes. Worth it? Definitely.

You can contact me if you would like a professional web hosting plan. I own a website that provides rebates and discounts on plans from the best web hosting companies in the US.

Good luck buddy.

Building your website is only beginning. E-Commerce is very competitive these days, and just the options of building the site can be overwhelming to say the least.
These people have low cost, effective web services that can help you from start to finish:

Give them a look before you decide on your direction.

If you are looking forward to selling your products, please bear in mind that THE WEBSITE you're about to create should only be one of your marketing channels. Meaning, aside from your website/internet home page, you should utilise other forms of marketing approach for the reason that due to overwhelming websites, your site might not be visited by potential customers not unless of course if you also advertise your website so buyers can browse it themselves. I highly advise you not to heavily rely on the internet. Much of businesses who had high expectation of creating website can give them, and heavily realy on their website, failed.

Advise for your website, just make the URL easy to remember. Websites like www.buyallyouwanthere.com is an example of an ineffective url. It's not easy to remember and hence, people might not visit it easily.
