Ted Kennedy got probation for a drowning should the mother of three who three who threw a cup of ice be charged with a felony offense?

yeah and i've had a rich white woman cut my scoot off with her new lexus. i still wonder what exuse she told her husband for that 750 dollar mirror falling off her car after it got punched. by the way, i am white . i suspect that if race is any factor in this travesty in justice, the discrimination would be against the soldiers wife. what do you do when someone repeatedly cuts you off? this was written by a police officer who was cut off repetitively by a rich white woman

I am a State Trooper and deal with this kind of stuff on a daily basis. Yes, I think most sentencing is way too soft, but this case was taken way out of hand. Yes, there are different levels of punishment.......they are called class A, B, C and D felonies, etc. She didn't hurt anyone, so it should be a lesser sentence. Any jail time for her is insane. I see drunk drivers who have killed people not get any jail time, ex. The St. Louis Rams defensive end "Little". I have been in pursuits with Meth cookers who had 7 previous felony arrests for meth production and they got less jail time. I arrested a guy for his 6th dwi, he had only done 120 days of jail for the previous arrests. A buddy of mine got the same guy for his 7th dwi, how was he not in jail and able to get his 7th dwi arrest. We can write in "road rage' on the tickets we write to add a bigger fine. In my opinion, she committed a misdemeanor assault, by road rage and it should have been punished accordingly. Two years

Two years in jail for it is way too harsh. Just an 11 year road trooper's opinion.

***What an eye opener your post is... Coming from a State Trooper, I know you see things, I don't want to see... Concerning that Rams guy... He not only killed a lady, but was drinking again later... Seems like he didn't get the type of punishment a Drunk Driver should get... They never do... Thank you for your opinion... It is worth much in my eyes, and the eyes of those who are fair minded...

The mother of three should not have been charged with a felony, I agree. It probably has something to do with the fact that they were all driving at the time, and so her actions *could* (if they were going faster) have caused an accident. But they weren't, and it didn't. Even the woman (the driver's girlfriend) who got ice all over her thought the charge was extreme.

Luckily, she has been given probation. I was glad to read that. Unfortunately, she spent over a month in jail before that happened.

Although I understand the Officer having to arrest the lady he failed to arrest the real ofender - the reckless driver.
However in my opionion the Judge should give up his Robe for failing to protect the taxpayer of Virginia from the reckless driver who is a nut case anyway. (I am from VA) I put up with these kind of me first nut case drivers all day, and if any of them tried that on my daughters when they are driving I would have a charge of attempted vehicle manslaughter charged on the driver. I know it would not fly in court - but I would make the Judge and DA earn their pay.
This was a case of self protection - a 2000 lb car aiming recklessly at the lady and all she did was throw ice. Big whoop - $25 fine and the other driver should get 10 days.
