Rain coat - panchos don't don't make fashion sense. (Big yellow tents don't look good on any one, I don't care how skinny you are!)

Poor question: There are so many types of raincoats! I'll take a goretex Colombia anyday. And so would you, of course.
However there is something to be said for ponchos due to the freedom of arm movement and the fashion statement. They are not an every(rain)day type of thing to wear though.

Neither. If anything at all, an umbrella.
**EDIT** forgot to say why: Because rain feels good. I love rain. I go from house to car, car to building, building to car, car to house... so an umbrella keeps me dry enough to not get soaked, but I still get to feel the loveliness of cool air and rain.
