Even though I think a lot of the stuff typical gay people do is funny, and what the 'scene' dudes do w/ all the meth and tons of unprotected sex is nasty, i dont know why there's so much hate towards them. they have no choice. If anything, and I know this will bother people by saying this, they should be felt sorry for. There's no reason for them not to be proud of who they are, but I feel sorry for the crap they have to go through and their struggle to blend in to a society that's just starting to acknowledge homosexuality as somewhat 'normal'

Well, I think we do a lot of it ourselves. I'm gay and I'm embarrased by drag queens and feminine men. I'm a man and like being a man I just happen to like sex with men. And that's what it's about. If we all acted like men I don't think we would be put down so much.

Prejudice towards gays is no different from any other prejudice inasmuch as it is largely born out of ignorance. I think gays would be treated better if they took a leaf out of the books of the likes of Graham Norton, Elton John, Paul O' Grady and suchlike by conducting themselves in public (and carrying out their ordinary day-to-day activities) like others do, kept their sexuality details private to all but their close friends and relatives, and did not go boasting or making a big issue about the fact that they're gay. Non-gays don't brag or go making "in yer face" comments to others about being "straight", after all.

There is every reason to be proud of who we are...because we have risen above the level where you have to feel sorry for us. Most of us don't have indiscriminate sex and drug parties--you just hear more about those ones...most of us lead ordinary lives. I agree that we shouldn't have to go through the crap that we have...but it's a double edged sword...it is also all that crap that pulled us together and made us fight back.

their is no such thing as normailty.. hehehe
yes society is mean here but their is something you must realize that being born gay is different than an homosexual. homosexual are just those person's who deliberately get into same sex that is bad... scienitifically it's medical dis-order. than there comes the ppl who are born or naturally homosexual, well they really pay the price, i agree with u on this.
well i thnik the socirty is always mean to uniques things.. they will not get the bad man first but rather the one who is unique. this is a very strabge phenomena througout our history. we kill someone that is unique.. in short, society lives in her so-called normality

They choose to do WHAT they can get away with, even if not WHY they wanted to get away with it. They can easily choose NOT to cornhole one another in hotel lobbies, for example, no matter how tempting the prospect.
Of course a certain amount of meanness is necessary as a continued deterrent - otherwise we might have to eat our sausages for breakfast in full view of two men eating each others sausages in the next booth when the mood comes upon them.
Not that there's anything wrong with that per se.

Well, I don't think the "they should be felt sorry for" thing is right, lol, but in time, being gay will become more normal. Just like people of colour have become accepted, or at least more accepted than they once were, I believe gay and lesbian people will as well. But, what I don't get, and I'm gay myself, is why gay people have parades and have to "come out" to their friends and family, yet want to be "normal and accepted". "Normal" people don't have parades, "trademark colours", and come out to their family.

any way it depends on what people believe
some people are ignorant and have no open mind

it may not be a decision i would make but im not gonna hate the person who did make that decision.

Society thinks they DO have a choice and thinks they're either perverted or dangerous. It's totally irrational but that's how people usually feel.

There is always a choice; simply saying that its who you are is no different than a pedophile claiming that they victimize children because someone victimized them. You always have a choice whether you do something, or do not do something.
