Seriously don't think this is going to happen. The Nets want Andrew Bynum, and Kwame Brown would also be included to help make the deal work under the cap, which would mean the Lakers already thin front line would be completely gone. With no real front court, the Lakers would have no interior defense or offense, which would basically make the Lakers into a west coast version of what the Nets are right now. The trade wouldn't improve the team this season, and there'd be no guarantee they team could significantly improve their front court next season because Kidd's killer contract would put the Lakers into a worse salary cap hole then they're in now, making it almost impossible to attract quality free agents.

A lot of fans are in love with the idea of this trade happening, hoping it will make the Lakers into instant championship contenders, but I don't think it would. They couldn't be anywhere close to being a top 3 team in the west giving away their only healthy and consistant center. I'm also a Lakers fan, and I don't like the idea.

They Lakers could probably get Marcus Banks or Earl Watson, both good point guards and good defenders, which they desperately need, for a lot less.

I'm a big Laker fan, so it would be awesome if Kidd ends up on the Lakers. But it's a small chance since the Nets really want Andrew Bynum, and we aren't going to give him up.

i think getting jkidd will not do the lakers any good. first of all, the nets wants bynum as part of the deal, and bynum is looking to be a dominant center in the league, and he is young.
second of all, from what i read, triangle offense doesnt really need a pass-first pg. no offense to jkidd, i like him, but bringing him to LA wont make LA a better ball club. maybe if he is 5 years younger, then it could be a considerable trade
LA should try to get KG or Gasol or even Pippen instead of trying to get Jkidd.

The trade is not going to happen because the Nets want Bynum in the trade for Kidd.

Of course it looks like a good idea, you get a first ballot Hall of Famer that passes first, shoots last (which LA needs since Kobe can't do it). What do we (I'm a Nets fan) get? A bunch of garbage players in their final year of their contract. I'd say that looks like a good deal for the Lakers.

The Lakers can make this happen if they throw in a few more draft picks, It's not agood idea to let go of andrew Bynum after what he's shown this season. Framar, Kwame Brown and a couple of picks, heck...throw in Smush Parker.

I think that'd be a great trade for the lakers. It could turn them from a second tier team to a championship contending team. Have you ever heard of a team with 2 legend-like players not winning a championship?

not going to happen unless bynum is involved. kidd would make LA into a top 3 west team, but LA has a better chance to bibby or even ridnour.

I'm a new yorker....we have plenty of PGs that we would gladly give away, lol

I heard from ESPN.com that he most likely won't go because NJ refuses to deal without getting Bynum.
